Bobby Bag (guitar, vocal)
Bobby was given his first guitar at age 13 by his father, who sang and played
folk music at the church to which they belonged. Soon he was playing with his
dad and the church band every Sunday morning, and at the church coffeehouse
every Saturday night. Not satisfied with the folk-country-gospel music the
church band was playing, Bobby formed a rock band which played regularly on
Saturday nights. After leaving home to attend college in Boston, Bobby hooked
up with an old Attleboro schoolmate, Harvey Bag, and they decided to form a
duo called Bobby Bag and the Bagboys, with Bobby as himself and Harvey as
the Bagboys. The Bagboys have weathered many incarnations over more than 16
years, but Bobby's steady rhythm guitar has remained constant throughout.
Ironically, or maybe not, the sound of the Bagboys is an awful lot like the
folk-country-gospel music the teenage Bobby Bag thought he was getting away from.
