Harvey Bag (bass, vocal, bells)
The only professional
wrestler in the group, Harvey learned his first few guitar chords from
Bobby Bag in the early 1970's. At
that time, the song stylings of America, John Denver and Olivia Newton
John led the charts and captured the ears of the
prepubescent Boys of the Bag. These days, if you hear the Bagboys
playing a swing tune, a novelty number, or a pop standard
from the '30's or '40's, it may have entered the canon via Harvey. A
collector of 78's, gramophones and old time sheet music,
Harvey boasts a large collection of original issues of the music the
Boys now cover many decades later. An accomplished
ukulele player, he counts Bob Wills, Bill Monroe, and Paul McCartney
among his musical and song writing heroes. At a Bagboys concert you may
hear a ringing sound now and then. Its just Harvey manipulating the
bicycle bells bolted onto his mic stand. (A welcome diversion from all
those ones, fours, and fives.)
