Frank Drake (mandolin, vocal)
Frank Drake
is a man of many names. (A.k.a Arthor, Otis Ray, or as Harvy likes
to call him: “Charty”). Schooled along the mighty Hudson River he played
folk, Celtic, original acoustic music, and of course bluegrass - (with a
band aptly named Middle Class Grass).
Frank has worked in many genres (jazz, avant guard, modern rock, old time) and is an accomplished composer and song writer.
Frank holds forth at the Bagboys old home base, the Plough & Stars in Cambridge Mass each and every Sunday from 5 to 7 where he leads a variety of ensembles such as the Aristocrats and Short Life of Trouble.
Stumbling onto the
Bagboys seemed the perfect way for this prodigal picker to return to
the music he started out with. There's nothing like coming home to the
Bagboys.
